    Are you a plant biologist who does not not grasp the wonders of the bacterial diversity? Do you not know what bacterial species are and how they differ from one another? Do you wonder how we proceed with a new isolate from the environment or a contaminant from one of our autoclaves?
    Then this workshop is for you. Our charming micro-team will teach you how microbial taxonomy has been revolutionised by improvements in molecular techniques such as whole genome sequencing. Learn that the List of Prokaryotic Names with Standing in Nomenclature consists of 30,808 species organised in 4,954 genera. … and there are many more which are not validly classified or published. Join us for this basic introduction to the world of bacteria and ask the questions you always wanted to ask in seminars but did not dare.

    Clear rules are being implemented world wide that require everyone to comply to FAIR practices regarding data generation, data processing and data sharing on repositories, to be able publishing. This concerns not only your omics data but also your image data (macro and microscopic).

    There is no better way to cure your hangover than fresh air and some light activity. Join us for playing minigolf where you will learn the basic techniques and then have some fun playing the open air course. If nothing else, you can use the minigolf stick to lean on.

    Morning stretching workshop: Join us for a gentle 45-minutes stretch to wake up your body, refresh your mind, and shake off the effects of last night’s fun. No fancy gear, no fitness level required—just comfortable clothes and a willingness to move a little. Perfect for loosening stiff muscles, easing headaches, and setting you up to enjoy the rest of the retreat.
