Research
The IPMB is home to 15 different research groups that cover a wider range of scientific questions. These concern not only plant development and adaptation but also focus on actors that often play a crucial parts in these processes: bacteria, algae, fungi and microbes in general. Nature is a complex network full of symbiotic or parasitic interactions and we believe that understanding them will create many opportunities for our society and a more sustainable industry.
Our research includes not only fundamental, molecular work but also illuminates on many related aspects such as pathogen adaptation and other evolutionary questions, fieldwork to address more applied, breeding-oriented questions or even the impacts that our research can have on politics.
