Research interests
For my master's thesis, I am conducting a genome-resolved metagenomic analysis of microbial communities from Arctic aquatic and terrestrial habitats in northern Greenland. My work focuses on comparing the bacterial carbohydrate degradation potential in ultra-oligotrophic ponds and tundra soils. In collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research, I aim to assess which carbohydrates may be degraded across different habitats to enhance our understanding of carbon cycling in one of Earth's most extreme environments.
