Workshops: 09:00 - 09:45

  1. Yoga (Location: TBA)
Alberto Linares, Nicole Härter, Raksha Ravikumar

What better way than to start your day with a yoga session? Bring your mat or a towel to best increase your Chi. The yoga session will be followed by a short meditation.

  2. Hand-drawn illustration (Location: Niederbauen)
    Elizabeth Kracik-Dyer

The illustration of scientific works includes a fundamental knowledge in colour and pattern matching and experience in how to use the canvas to convey a precise message that it is still beautiful to the eye. In this workshop you will get introductions and hand-on experience on botanical illustration and hand free drawing, that you can use to design the cover of your next paper or of your thesis. Drawing material will be provided.

  3. Beer Brewing (Location: Aula)
    Christof Eichenberger
Explanations of the history, raw materials, basic production methods, and some of the biochemical processes involved in brewing beer.

Workshops: 09:45 - 10:30

  1. Protein-protein interaction/Proteomics (Location: Seelisberg)
    Kyle Bender
Proteins are the little machines that make our cells work. Understanding how they interact with each other often is at the heart of unraveling complex molecular mechanisms. This workshop explores the different techniques that allow to study protein-protein interactions.

  2. Next Generation Sequencing/Genomics (Location: Aula)
    Deepak Tanwar
ATGC are the four letters that serve as the building blocks of life's genetic code. But, the intriguing question is: how are these letters encoded? This workshop will delve into various innovative methods, sequencing, to explore the fascinating world of genetic encoding. Moreover, participants will have the opportunity to unravel the complexities of data interpretation, gaining valuable insights into the genetic information stored within these letters. Join us as we unravel the secrets of life's code!

  3. Live Imaging and Analysis using Biosensors (Location: Niederbauen)
    Nick Desnoyer
Live Imaging and Analysis using Biosensors:  Imagine you could see the amazing molecular dynamics of a plant cell in real time would be cool right?  Stop imagining and start imaging with biosensors! This workshop covers state of the art fluorescent protein biosensors and a hands on data analysis demo for tips and tricks when quantifying timelapse images.
